Independent Advisory Group

Northamptonshire Police and Crime Commissioner and Northamptonshire Police are committed to engaging with diverse communities across the county.

Our Independent Advisory Groups are one of the many ways in which we speak with residents of Northamptonshire of all ages and backgrounds, in order to help us provide the best service possible for our communities.

Community representatives are able to offer a valuable insight to the police about diversity and equality issues affecting the area where they live, socialise or work. We want to hear from people who are actively involved in their community, to join others at a bi-monthly meeting to consider how police policies, practices and procedures might impact on them and their friends, colleagues and families.

We’re looking for volunteers to join Independent Advisory Groups in the following areas:

  • Kettering and Corby
  • Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire
  • Daventry and South Northamptonshire
  • Northampton

If you live or work in the county, are interested in what the police are doing in your community, feel you are able to constructively challenge and offer advice to us, and are able to offer a viewpoint from a particular group – such as the travelling community, a particular ethnic group, young people or have experience of working with people with addictions, please do get in touch.

If you are interested in becoming an IAG member, please complete the application and monitoring forms below and send to commissioner@northantspcc.pnn.police.uk
