Independent Custody Visitors check on the welfare of detainees held in police custody.
They ensure they are receiving their rights and entitlements and that the conditions they are being held in are satisfactory.
Volunteers in this role are impartial, objective and non-judgmental, as well as able to communicate effectively with people from a variety of different backgrounds.
