The OPCC is delighted to welcome applications for the role of Chief Finance Officer within the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping to ensure our vision becomes a reality, by providing essential governance, assurance and challenge.
This position is one of two statutory senior positions within the office. Principally, the Chief Finance Officer, in conjunction with the Force Chief Finance Officer and their team, aim to deliver a sustainable medium term financial plan. This supports the Police and Crime Plan, along with the associated policies and plans that support that work.
The PCC considers the following four areas of responsibility to be critical for the successful candidate:
- Leadership and Management;
- Strategic Planning and Operational Delivery;
- Partnership Working; and
- Statutory Oversight and Advice.
The role is a senior position that will provide essential advice and, when necessary, challenge the political and senior leadership. The CFO will work collaboratively and independently but at all times will recognise the importance of developing sustainable relationships of mutual trust and respect.
